Breakfast and Lunch @ The Trolley Stop on St. Charles Ave

We arose late on Sunday... no Saints game... hungry... “Boo, whats for breakfast?”
“I don't know. Its almost lunch time.”
“Must be Trolley Stop”

Whenever one of us feels like breakfast and one of us feels like lunch, we think of this classic American diner that is completely CrescentCityfied, with its offerings of really respectable fried seafood, gumbo and sandwiches with that unique CrescentCity sandwich option, bun, toast or po-boy on french bread.

By the time we got there, and by the time we poured over the menu our preferences flipped. I ended up with lunch in the form of their grilled chicken salad, and Boo went all the way breakfast with the sinful, but worth it, chili omelet.

My salad was as I expected, hot tender well seasoned nuggets of chicken breast on a plate of cold iceberg lettuce with generous tomato slices, and of course boiled egg quarters and just enough shredded real cheddar cheese to add color and enhance the flavor, with an ample side dish of the honey mustard dressing I requested.

Boo's chilli omelet was as it always is, fluffy scrambled real eggs, wrapped around and topped with a really tasty chilli and cheddar cheese, served with perfectly toasted whole wheat toast.

That's kind of what brings us back to the Trolly Stop, consistently really good reasonably priced food, always served hot by very pleasant people. Sometimes there's a wait... but never too long... and its worth it to know your are going to get what you expect.
